SALAZAR
This show was created three years ago, with the aim of paying tribute to an illustrious historic character of our region, "Don Diego López de Salazar", who was the owner of a medieval tower converted into a museum in our town. In this show, we recreate through dance, music and theatre, part of Don Diego’s life, which was marked by the strong hate his sons felt towards him, and which finally drove them to kill him. With this show we had the idea of gathering different culture centres from our town together, like drama groups, choirs and the town’s music band, so the tower-museum would be honoured by the community it is set in. In this show, we employ medieval costumes (Salacens) with a colour that is different to the usual ones, rescued from paintings where different dressings (associated to different social status and ages) appeared. Music has been documented and retrieved from various books from that period, and we have recreated the pieces with the instruments that have been available for us to play. Regarding the dance, there is very little material of that period, so we have collaborated with our own creation, in which the submission women were subject to is reflected. This show has an approximate length of one hour and a quarter, and it is necessary to have a large space for this representation, which should also take place at night. |
